Better beef genetics pilot comes to HB

Patoka beef and sheep farmer Patrick Crawshaw has been selected as one of the initial participants in a programme to demonstrate and increase the uptake of high-quality genetics in the beef industry.

As quoted in Farmers Weekly, INZB spokesperson Gemma Jenkins says: “We’re on a mission to give breeders and farmers genetic tools to help produce great-tasting beef and drive production efficiency.”

Says Patrick Crawshaw: “As a farmer, I welcome the openness of the project … I want to play my part in challenging and stimulating the beef industry and create gains for the sector.”

Any commercial beef farmer can register interest in joining the programme by December 30, 2022 at: www.blnzgenetics.com/informing-nz-beef/opportunities-for-farmers
