Pan Pac Forest Products is pleased to support Hawke’s Bay Future Farming Trust’s work to champion sustainable agriculture in Hawke's Bay. The Trust’s mission has never been more important, especially given the impact of Cyclone Gabrielle on primary industries in the region.

Pan Pac is the largest forestry grower in Hawke’s Bay with a total forest area of about 35,000 hectares. Over 80% of the land is owned by local iwi. Pan Pac annually converts $150m of whole logs into $450m of value-added wood products that are exported to US, Europe, Asia and India.

It provides employment directly and indirectly to around 3,500 workers in Hawke’s Bay, contributing $1 in $16 of local GDP.

This year, Pan Pac celebrates its 50th anniversary as New Zealand’s largest integrated forest products business.

Despite damage from Cyclone Gabrielle forcing a temporary closure of operations, Pan Pac has significant growth aspirations for the coming decade. Understanding sustainable land use is key, along with innovative practices to improve environmental impacts and building greater resilience in the community.
