Want to join 'Good Farmers'?

If you’re a grower, producer or marketer of Hawke’s Bay artisan food, you might want to check out Sven Baker’s ‘Good Farmers’ initiative – www.goodfarmers.nz

Sven has been assembling a community of foodies under the common marketing umbrella of ‘Good Farmers’. Each participant of course keeps their own brand identity, but they get the added oomph of reaching more customers – within Hawke’s Bay and beyond – by also riding a broader marketing campaign put together by Hastings-based Sven, who brings to bear an impressive marketing/advertising background.

The Good Farmers community is not for everybody. Here’s the ‘planet friendly foods’ ethos participants must share: We’re an independent community of like-minded farmers & artisan producers who share a passion for premium quality, ethically produced food. We’re united by our commitment to crafting totally natural food with care & responsibility. Protecting the rural environment, honouring animal welfare & eliminating harmful packaging waste.”

Current members of the Good Farmers community include Lindsay Farm Organic Milk, The Organic Farm Butchery, Sentry Hill Farm organic eggs, Hawthorne’s Coffee, Flanders & Moffett honey, Craggy Range Sheep Dairy, Buchanan’s muesli, OCHO chocolates … with more in the pipeline.

I’ve been using Regenerative methods for 7 years now, we are seeing amazing results in both pasture and soil growth. We would be interested in joining the group, finding other ways to sell our beef, and showing our system to interested consumers. We have a Glamping cabin and some pretty funky accommodation.
