Farmlands to launch Horticulture Hub in Hastings

Farmlands is introducing its first Horticulture Hub in the North Island, set to open this August in Hastings. Next year, the site will expand with a bulk and retail center, creating a comprehensive one-stop shop for all Farmlands customers. Additionally, a new Farmlands store will be completed in New Plymouth by mid-2025.

Farmlands is committed to supporting horticulture in Hawke’s Bay and aiding the local agricultural sector's recovery and growth following Cyclone Gabrielle's impact. They are enthusiastic about connecting with Hastings, New Zealand’s largest region for growing apples, pears, and squash, and the second-largest for wine production. As Hastings is where Farmlands began, they are dedicated to helping horticulture customers rebuild their businesses after the cyclone.

The horticulture hub, located at 7 Barnes Place, Twyford, will be a specialized facility designed to meet the needs of horticulturalists, offering a wide range of products and expert advice essential for the upcoming spring season.

Chris Binns, Farmlands' head of sales and strategy for horticulture, stated that the co-op aims to be the leading crop protection specialist in Hawke’s Bay, working closely with commercial growers to provide the best possible advice, products, and services.
